Purchasing Area Rugs Information

ALL rugs are sold by the square foot. This includes fabric borders, custom, carpet borders, fiber-optic, all other insert styles, etc.

The process of comissioning custom designed and sculpted area rugs from Gino DiAVonti is easy and pain free.

If you're the general public, Gino has access to Fabrica and Masland carpet companies, and will order the carpet needed for the completion of the rugs for you at a discounted rate.

If you're a Designer or Architect, you will most likely have access to these two companies yourself and can get the discount on your own. Gino supplies a cut list that will tell you what amount of what color and style to order of each piece needed.

Designer/Architect supplies the carpet. If an individual, Gino will contact Fabrica and/or Masland after a cut list is made and give you the price of the carpet. Gino's price includes assembly, carving, backing and binding of the rug. Gino will supply the backing, binding and all other supplies needed to create the custom area rug. Shipping is extra.

Custom Designed Area Rugs

Custom area rugs are each priced specifically depending upon how much work/detail goes into the finished area rug. Typically, a rendering must be done (or given to Gino) in order to price out these types of rugs. EMail Gino for any other questions on pricing out these types of rugs.

Fabric Border Rugs

Fabric border rugs are priced by the width and the pattern involved. For a typical example, a 6" border with upholstery weight fabric sells for $12.00 a square foot. A 12" border of with upholstery weight fabric costs $18.00 per square foot. Square footage includes pricing out the field.

The price includes assembly, carving, backing and binding of the rug. All of these supplies will be taken care of by the artist. Designer/Architect supplies the carpet. If an individual, Gino will contact Fabrica and/or Masland after a cut list is made and give you the price of the carpet. Shipping is extra.

Bas Relief Rugs

Bas (pronounced 'baa', like a sheep's bleat) relief are some of the most difficult, yet beautiful, of all custom area rugs. They contain no inserts, but are completely carved. These exquisite rugs are also priced out depending upon detail. A scale rendering will be needed in order to price out this type of rug design. For an example of a bas relief rug, Click Here

Fiber Optic Rugs

Fiber Optic rugs fall under the category of custom area rugs and are most often made of Fabrica and Masland carpet. However, Gino can tell you up front that each fiber optic insert costs $6.00 each, with a minimum of 1200 inserts per rug ordered. The price for the custom area rug they are inserted into is seperate, and must be priced according to the work involved. See Purchase Area Rugs.

Carpet Border Rugs

Carpet border rugs with no inserts in the field sell for the following: Single border: $6.00 square foot. Double border: $10.00 square foot. Triple border: $16.00 square foot.

If there is to be inserts or carving done to the field, you will need to email Gino for a price. A 'to scale' rendering will be needed if inserts are added.

Leather and Suede Border Rugs

Any width up to 12" in leather or suede border is $25.00 per square foot. Size over this width should be consulted with the artist.

Other Inserts

Any other inserts you may desire, such as the glass baubles seen on this website, Contact Gino for a rough estimate. You will need a scaled rendering plus carpet type details in order for him to give a deliberate price.

Scale Renderings

Scale drawings are charged at the rate of $400.00 for no more than 3 rugs. The price is to be paid in full before Gino begins the area rug drawings. The renderings will take anywhere between 1 and 3 weeks to complete. Gino will color at least two sides of the drawing, and possibly more, to match already thoughtful carpet combinations. This fee is non-refundable. If the custom area rugs are ordered, Gino will take the $400.00 off of the total of the price to create the full size area rugs. The drawings will become the property of the purchaser. However, in order to create the rugs full scale, Gino will need to use the originals until they are created. At the finish time, he will return them to their proper owner. In the meantime, Gino will supply the owner of the drawings with a copied set of the drawings.

The drawings and colors, names of manufacturer of carpet types, must be hand signed off on the original drawings by the owner and the designer before Gino will begin work on the custom area rugs.

Portfolio

It includes over 350 full color area rug photos printed on high quality photographic paper and bound in a durable vinyl binder. Photographs are protected with high gloss transparent covers.

Price is $500.00, non-refundable. Shipped overnight via FedEx. Shipping included. Full price due before shipment is sent out.

The photographs/designs remain the sole creation of Gino DiAVonti, and are not to be duplicated without the artist's explicit written permission.

Sales Package

If you're interested in representing Gino's custom area rugs and turning a profit for yourself, a full Sales package will help you get started. They are now available. Custom designed by his graphic art team, it will include 200 business cards, a set of 100 business header stationery, 50 custom matching envelopes, 100 self-adhesive custom labels, booklet on 'How to Properly Care for Custom Area Rugs', a "How to Sell Custom Area Rugs" informational booklet, 3 Fabrica carpet sample books, 3 Masland carpet sample books, and one Portfolio as mentioned above. Also Gino's staff's full support via telephone and/or email for 1 full year.

You will also receive a 25 percent reduction in the price of the renderings by Gino that you will need to clinch the sale.

Contract Details

The Artist is fully responsible for the materials as follows: Backing fabric, latex glues, other glues, fabric/suede/vinyl binding, carpet carving machine and blades, knives associated with the fabrication of custom area rugs.

Client is responsible for the purchase of the carpet to create the said custom area rug(s). client is also responsible for having the carpet shipped to Mr.DiAVonti for fabrication. Mr. DiAVonti will pay for shipping to the end Client.

One half of monies owed are due in advance of beginning fabrication of said custom area rug(s). Balance is due before shipment. Verification of rugs completion can be either in person at Gino's Studio or via email files. Nonetheless, no rug(s) shall be shipped out without full payment made in advance.

Precise measurements are required and must be hand signed off on in order for Gino to start any custom area rug, be it fabric, leather, fiber optic, custom designed, or any otherwise. Gino will create this precise size rug. The rugs will be measured by Gino and a record will be made of their size before shipment. Since rugs tend to expand and contract according to hot and cool weather, a fluctuation of no more than 1/2" is an allowable factor in their creation and shipping to Client.
